Alfred Analytical Lab tested for cadmium a white stoneware bowl with
bright, thick De Gussa stains in yellow, orange and red covered with a very
thin coat of clear glaze. The test came back at less than .05 mg/L. I
checked my Santa Barbara water quality report for allowable cadmium, and
they allow 5 mg/L. So I feel comfortable about using those colors on plates
and platters after all, but still wouldn't encourage storing tomato halves
on them.
