Dear David: Glad to hear about the longevity of the Stihl 026. I will
treat it like a Rolls Royce. If Texan wood is dry in 6 months then in more
temperant parts of the universe we're looking at a year and half to dry
wood. Texas is as dry as a popcorn fart. Many an old timer has told me
that after a year and a half the wood becomes to doosey/punky to throw off
good heat. We have to look after our wood because of snow, sleet and lots
of humidity. In Texas a wood kiln is already at Cone 6 on a hot summers
day.
I am collecting sweet and sour cherry trees. God knows what the BTU values
are of each wood and I am yet to find out.
Hope the Christmas season puts jingles in your pocket and my CM arrives so
I can read Minnesota Mels article on ITC procucts.
Cheers,
Tony
