At the risk of being accused of blatant self-promotion, I invite anyone in the
DC area to stop by my 20th Annual Home Show and Sale.

There will be lots of shino pots - the whole range from glorious to utter crap
- so stop by and see for yourself. When you enter you will see batik scarves,
cards, stained glass, wood, glass jewelry, prints, calendars and things to eat
and drink. But not to worry, the Basement is full of pots!

Dates: Saturday and Sunday, December 19 and 20
Times: Noon to 5PM
Place: 2322 Nineteenth Street, NW
Washington, DC 20009
(at Columbia Road)
202-265-1819

Make sure to introduce yourself.

Dear Nez & Others;

Hey, say hello to a fellow clayarter at the show. Bev and I will be
spending some time in the Freer storage the week before, but hope to meet
you at the shino show opening on the 8th, and the shino brunch on Sunday.

I'll be off-line for three weeks, Cheers, Hank

I'm in need of info about the Shino Show opening on September 8 at the
Babcock Galleries in NYC. I called the Babcock Galleries today and they are
not open until after next Tuesday. Is there someone out there who knows the
location of the gallery, and if the opening is by invitation only or may I
just walk in. From a long ago e-mail it sounded as if there was going to be
a roundtable talk on shino. Is this so? Time? Thanks for any info you can
give me.

Hi:
My info. from the gallery is:
location: 724 5th Avenue,
phone: 212-767-1852

They said they would send me a notice, but I haven't received it yet. My
impression is that it is an open forum, Hank lMurrow said they ar hosting a
Potters' Brunch in the gallery for those potters who show up for the opening.

Hope this helps.

Allthe best.

There's an ad for the NYC show at Babcock in the latest
issue of Clay Times. Show starts September 8 through October 19th.
If you go to:
http://newyork.citysearch.com/
and search for Babcock Galleries, you'll get a link
with a map of the location of the store and subway
directions on how to reach it.

The gallery is probably closed because no one with
any money stays in NYC over a summer holiday weekend.

Don't even want to think about the tunnel and bridge
traffic heading south today.

Hello Pam;

The Babcock Galleries are at 724 Fifth Avenue, corner of 57th
Avenue, and the opening is from 4-6 pm on Saturday the 8th. Next day,
Sunday from 11:30-1:30 pm there will be a Shino Brunch in the closed
Gallery with the pots and the potters. If you come to the opening, ask
Lester about attending the Brunch.

We leave tommorrow (Sat) very early for Baltimore and a visit with
Mary Bowron in Boyds, MD. Then the District for the Freer basement and
other treats, then NYC.

Can't wait to see you all, Hank in Eugene
