I am looking for information on safety equipment I can use on the natural gas,
downdraft cone 10 reduction kiln I'm building for the college where I teach.
I would like to have some method of auto shut off for extreme temperatures or
emergency situations (earthquake?) but keep this relatively low tech and
within budget. Any ideas to whom I ought to turn? Thanks-

as for your home built kiln, you could use an gas furnace saftys you should
be able to get them from a supply house (hvac) near you, you may have to do
some talking to them and know what you need try to get a catolage from them
and look at it at home to see what you need they are set a diffent temps, as
far as your upset switch, you could use a mercry type switch, also at your
supply house, hope this helps and if you have trouble getting them or know
what one to get let me know
