Restating a garbled message: Don't try to sieve granular
manganese, as it is too coarse.
Add it after other ingredients have been sieved. Because it
settles out so rapidly and sincerely, it works better as a
slip addition, in which it stays suspended. I use a slip
consisting of ball clay, with some red iron for warmth, and
granular manganese for speckles.
