reply-stacking bisque during firing

updated wed 2 dec 98

I stack for bisque, but I have had some accidents as well. I stack tiles -
high & little things, no problem. In fact, I usually put little things inside
bowls & things. But I only stack 2 bowls or plates. It just isn't worth the
risk of something breaking under a stacked piece or shrinking issues. Another
good tip is to invert the first bowl & put the second one right side up.
Good luck,

When stacking for a bisque firing I put a stilt in a bowl and place
another bowl nesting style on the stilt. The two bowls occupy the same
space and heat can reach the underside of the second bowl. Carol
