Don't miss The Real Mother Goose, they have pottery/ceramics, as well as other
mediums such as wood, glass and jewelry, and all very high quality.
Also, Contemperary Crafts Gallery has some very nice ceramic work.

Hi Jim
In Portland, try :
Contemporary Crafts Gallery (SW Portland)
The Real Mother Goose (downtown Portland)
Art Factors (John's Landing, not far from Contemprary Crafts)
Graystone Gallery (SE Portland)
Fifth Element (downtown Portland, Park blocks)

There's lots more. If you want a "tour" I'd be happy to oblige or at least
give you more extensive directions, suggestions, etc.

Fire it up!

Jim:

You are welcome to visit our gallery and working studio called, "Fifth
Element Pottery". We are located in Portland at 404 N.W. 10th Avenue
in an area called the Pearl District. The gallery is open Wednesday
through Saturday Noon to 6:00 PM and Sunday Noon to 5:00 PM. By
the way, the Pearl District is home to quite a number of galleries, shops
and restaurants. The area will keep you busy for a solid afternoon.

Hope you enjoy your visit to Portland and we look forward to meeting
you.

Jim,
July 2nd I flew to Portland for an opening at the Contempory Crafts
Gallery (which has already been suggested by other clayarters) One of
the highlghts of my short visit was going to Caprial's Bistro.
Caprial is the daughter of Portland ceramic artist, Pat Horsley. She
is a famous chef and was featured in the Nov97 issue of Bon Appetite
magazine.
The Bistro walls are decorated with ceramic plates and if you order an
appitizer or dessert, you get it served on one of Pat's plates so of
course, I had to have cheescake (delicious).
Caprial's Bistro, 7015 S.E. Milwaukie Ave,
Portland Phone 503-236-6457
serves lunch and dinner. If going for dinner, make reservations. We
went for a late lunch (1:30) and didn't have trouble being seated.

There is a PBS series called "Cooking with Caprial". Haven't seen it,
but have seen it advertised. How many Caprial's can there be? Must
be the same one.

Explains the flat, squiggly-spouted teapot behind her on a recent show
doesn't it? And I thought it was aquired taste, not genetic :-)

trying to keep the hanging fuscia from turning crisp.
