Well my new Kiln arrived and was finally wired yesterday=21=21 It only took=
1 short
=22discussion=22 and a call to Tuckers Pottery for the electrician to =
realize he
better wire it the way I want it done. He wanted to use aluminum wire for =
part
of the distance to the kiln from the breaker box. He swore there would be =
no
difference but finally did agree that it would oxidize after a couple of =
years.
Even though I don't plan on being here that long, I wanted it done the right=
way
anyway. I think he only wanted to use aluminum because it would be much =
easier
to make the bends through the wall out to the studio.

Anyway, the first test firing went well once I realized the controller had =
not
been set for three relays. I was quite frustrated when I saw that the
temperature difference was 70 degrees between top and bottom=3B but once I =
got it
set to recognize that there were three heating zones, it quickly corrected
itself to a 0 to 1 degree difference the rest of the way up.

So, with 1 test firing to go, could anyone reccomend their firing schedule =
to
me? A bisque and glaze schedule would be great=21 I am firing glaze to cone=
5 and
cone 10. I have gone through the archives, but found only 1 schedule, most =
of
you must have answered privately when helping others.

Thanks for sharing in the excitement of my new kiln=21

and I
am frantically preparing to fire an array of bowls and plates as Christmas
rapidly approaches.
