I have a terra cotta tortilla warmer which is designed to be used in the
microwave. It is glazed on the outside only and has raised concentric
circles across inside bottom of base. Instructions said to rinse the
inside of both top and bottom in water, place your pile of tortillas
inside, cover and heat on HI for 2 minutes. I've been using this
seemingly ridiculous piece for years, and love it. tortillas cme out
hot, soft and steamed. No prob with the warmer, not unduly hot to the
touch when I take it out I have made replicas for customers, and they
seem to be fine, too.
Pam in not too rainy Seattle (today, at least).
