Here is a recipe for a metal black, cone 6 oxidation that does not use
Albany slip. The recipe comes from Zakin's Elecctric Kiln Ceramics.

Metal Black
barnard clay 90
gerstley borate 10
add
copper carb 6

This is not a durable glaze - for a number of reasons,

Barnard has 3.3% manganese according to the analysis I have so beware - you
don't want to be sniffing this stuff on a regular basis.
