silica, Zircopax to no avail?? and I'm about to try talc, alumina Hydrate,
does anyone have any other ideas????

Bryan,

Ways to matt a glaze are the additions of clay, whiting, Barium oxide in
excess of about .2 molecular equivalents although barium may not cause
matness in a glaze which is high in B2O3 since this oxide forms a
eutectic with barium, producing a fluid glass

Matness can be introduced by:
1. Underfiring.
2.Increasing the alumina
3.Increasing the calcium oxide or magnesia
4. Increasing the silica to the point where devitrification will occur in
cooling
5.Including barium oxide in the glaze in abounts above about .2 molecular
equivalents.

Have fun.
