Clayarters,
I uploaded a show of Japanese Porcelain that was on display in the Arthur
Sackler Gallery in Washington DC during 1994. I found an old brochure of the
show and to my knowledge is the only documentation of the show in existence.
Please visit and be aware that it is all pictures and will load slowly, but
it's worth the wait. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep it online so
dont put the visit off more than a week.

Thanks Frank,
It was worth the wait. Any idea how they got gold leaf to stick to clay
and then glaze over it?I would imagine the fixative for the leaf would
somehow interfere with the adhesion of the glaze. And what is enamel
glaze, is it high fire? or is it just a different term for glaze? Mike

Frank--
As far as I know, that little brochure was the only piece of literature I found.
I asked the people at the Sackler if there was anything else and they said no.
I just took the brochure down from my bulletin board of images because it was
getting worn and I wanted to preserve it. The photos don't do justice to the
work, even though they are very good. Thanks for putting them up.
Sandy D.

Frank:

Thanks for putting up the brochure and examples of Contemporary Japanese
Porcelain.
For those of us who live in the cool north country and far away, it is
wonderful for us to at least get a look at these images on the internet.
Even though both you and Sandy tell us that the images aren't quite the
same as seeing it in person, it is helpful and I did appreciate your
efforts. Oh to be able to throw and glaze as some of these master
potters!!. The drawing and design work is enviable!!.
It is wonderful when clayarters come across great websites and inform
the group. I for one, appreciate the information.
