glaze colorants-nickle

The glaze color string reminded me of an old glaze I enjoyed experimenting =
with
in
the late 70's.It's from an even older Ceramics Monthly and had recipes for =
other
cones also .(sorry I only copied this one and didn't make a note of the =
issue it
came from) This is the =5E4-=5E6 version I used. It's a smooth matt with =
color
possibities
ranging from ice blue to navy, olive to deep forrest green. Most interesting=
was
that
when I drew on it with my gerstly glaze all the blue disappeared making =
white
designs on a deep blue or green back ground.

color notes: 1=25 nickle medium blue--+10=25zircopax--- better blue
3=25 nickle--- majolica blue
1=25nickle +4=25 tin ---icy blue
2=25nickle + 8=25 titanium dioxide---dark forrest green
2=25 nickle + 2=25 rutile---- spruce blue
