glaze & clay trap variation.

Instead of a 5 gallon bucket, I've made clay traps using those plastic
storage boxes you find in hardware / home improvement stores. The 12 gallon
size with the two interlocking lids that are hinged on the side.
They fit under a lot of sinks more easily since they're not as high. The
other advantage is due to the larger capacity.....the flow isn't as
turbulent so slightly more settling takes place.
I just cut a hole in one of the lids for the inlet, and cut a hole in the
side for a gasketed outlet fitting.( Depending on design needs, you can put
inlets and outlets where they fit best.) For extra settling, just put a
couple in series.
Easy to scoop out since the top is so open and accessible. As an added
bonus you can put some stuff on top of the box while it's under the sink.
They are a bit more fragile than the buckets, so be aware. If the way they
sometimes bulge scares you, just make a wooden cradle, (like a belt)
around the sides.
