frothy glaze

I've been making a bunch of tests lately with a particular material
that makes an incredible mass of bubbles as soon as it's mixed into
water. Almost like detergent. Does anybody know how to prevent or
cure this? Most of the time there are no bubbles in the fired tests,
although there are some where it's thick. I blow all the bubbles flat
before they dry.

By the way, the material is lead bicarbonate, and, yes, I know all
about the hazards of lead. Let's not go there again for purposes of
this discussion. Thanks.
