Have you too been working in majolica at cone 5? I would like to share
information with other clay people who have been working likewise for some
time.
Right now I am trying to solve the problem of white dots in the brushed
colored areas caused by glaze bubbling.

Susan,

No I have been working for some time with cone 9 and 10 reduction and now
want to experiment with the lower cones. I get very nice firings in my
present work but the idea of doing brush work fascinates me since I am a
painter in pastel, watercolor & oil. I want to have more control over my
work (ex. less melding of the glaze etc so I can work with edges etc as
opposed to the more running glazes. Cone 5 is new to me so can't be of
much help. Your white dots sound like pinholing?

Suzanne,

Hope you won't think I am just horning in, but I am interested in beginning
firing Majolica , at cone 5 also, and have had no experience with it, but I
have seen wonderful results of others firings. I have a home studio, and an
electric kiln, but fire at another studio for gas firings. Would you share
with me information you may get from your request??? and if I learn something,
I will do same.

TIA
