I won't go into long story of my fiasco at school with ordering a
controller that is separate, but I would order one separate. If
controller goes you still still be able to use the kiln (as long as
installer doesn't change the plug to fit the current receptacle but
replaces the receptacle conform to the plug). Then you can unplug
controller from wall, unplug kiln from controller and plug kiln into
receptacle and use the kiln while the contoller is being fixed. Also
make sure you have enough room for 21" of clearance for the controller.
Also I would get the kiln sitter and timer as back up as I did at
school. Love the kiln - it's just the incompetence of dealing with
school system (custodians etc.) that bugged me. After all I'm a dumb
broad - or at least that's the way I felt.

If I were replacing my kiln at home I would buy the same thing.

Each time children get out their art supplies, they are ready for
another adventure. It s an expedition into their inner world where they
discover and sort out the ideas and feelings about who they are. And it
is quite literally a treasure hunt.
