I have four 2.5 inch venturis (tube of the burner is 19 in long) with
flame retention nozzle and valve with 3/4 in. baso valve and 48" baso
thermocouple, made in 1976; they were used for a 20 cu. ft kiln and
supposedley worked but that aspect is not entirely clear. Are these the
"big Johnson Power Burners" you speak of???? They were bought
from, Johnson of Cedar rapids Iowa. Your answer is critical because on
Tuesday, 6 Oct. a gas company is supposed to install a 500 gal tank and
hook up the burners. Please respond soon. edgould@erols.com

Edwin -
I have been swamped with a million things for the past month, and was
distressed to discover that I never responded to your post. Sorry about that.

The term "power burners" always refers to forced-air burners, which usually
means that they have an electric blower on them. Occasionally they get
their "forced air" from some other source.

Venturi burners are, by definition, not "power" burners. They are simply
the most efficient "atmospheric" or "natural draft" burners.

Again, I am sorry I did not resond sooner, and I hope it did not cause you
any inconvenience.
Good luck -
- Vince
