bloating with black clay & porcelian slip

But - meanwhile, since I had all this clay, I used it. I got horrible
bloating
at the glaze firing. Bisque LOOKED ok! I found out that I needed to bisque
this black stuff VERY SLOWLY, to let all the organics (and whatever) burn out.


Further info friends, how long at what temps for a very slow firing? I gas
fire & measure F. degrees per hour. Why would a commercial clay body have
organic materials in it.
