So I am on my last few firings before taking the kiln apart to do the ITC
thing.....thankyou Jean Lehman I am finally getting a chance to utilize the
generous prize from ITC I got through '97 Strictly F.......anyway so the
blower goes kaput.

After chizelling off the rivits holding the assembly into the Bailey
enamelled superstructure the little motor has a sign attached that clearly
reads "oil here every six months", pointing to two little lubrication holes
at either end of the notice label.

Well maybe we didn't read the instructions carefully enough but the sign
and the holes are not readily accessible as engineered so I just thought
that other people who rely in this apparatus might like to know they are
there you could probably get in with a little mirror tool and lubricate
that motor.

BTW I can't imagine trying to fire this kiln evenly without the blower....I
consistently get within 10 or 15 degrees even better, sometimes perfectly
even firings.

Eleanora.....mulling over the implications of Rick's remarks....are we
gonna have our own Bakke decision on clayart......and the interesting
counterpoint to Berry's wonderful report....here is a woman who has shown
in offering this event an exemplary instinct for community.....
