Please help me with this. I'm in the group that is prepared to believe
that ITC coatings are a fine thing when done properly. But which coating
for which thing? In this same digest, we have Nils with ITC 213 on his
elements and Linda with ITC 296 (?) on hers. I get it that ITC 100 itself
is for the bricks but which is the one for the elements? Or is there more
than one and if so, howcum?

Explanations please!

ITC 100 is the base coat for ITC 296. ITC 213 is used on metal. ITC 100 can
be sprayed on kiln including the elements, ITC 296 doesn't have to be used if
you get the results you want with the ITC 100. In short ITC 100 can be
sprayed on elements and ITC 213 can be be used on elements. Sometimes it is
easier to just spray the whole kiln with the ITC 100.

Probably you'll hear from others but just in case it is my turn:

ITC 100 kiln coating. Use on all brick and spray on the elements if they =
are
not new and cannot be dipped in 213. A thin coating is sprayed on.
ITC 296a top coating over itc 100. Use if you fire white clay and =
porcelain. I
have it because I just love every little advantage not because I use any =
white
clay.
ITC 213 for elements and metal parts. For new elements, dilute the 213 and =
dip
the elements getting a very thin coating.
