There is a brand new book that just hit the shelves by Michelle Coakes that
I would like to highly recommend. It is called "CREATIVE POTTERY a
Step-by-Step Guide and Showcase" published by Rockport Publishers Inc.

The book concentrates on 9 potters' approaches in three distinct categories;
Forming, Surface and Firing. The artist includes Michael Simon, Lana
Wilson, Chris Staley, Steven Hill, Linda Arbuckle, Peter Pinnell, Linda
Christianson, and the potters of Jatun Molino as well as myself.

It is a "how to" book with brilliant color pictures of both the processes
and the artists' finished work. It includes their recipes of clay and glazes
and many additional pieces from a wide range of ceramic artists.

I predict this will be a very popular book and would love to hear feed back
from the forum. I saw it listed on Steve Branfman's The Potter Shop book
list for $25.00 (not including discount). It is in paperback form.

Although I am featured in the book, I received no monetary gain from the
sales (except one complementary copy). In my humble opinion it is one of the
best new clay books I have seen. Check it out!

Interesting you should mention this book, CREATIVE POTTERY. Adoring
inspiration, I leafed through a number of pottery books at Barnes and Noble,
then went home and ordered it from Amazon . It looked great enough to me after
seeing it to order it!
