A few weeks ago, while on a rare trip away from home, we got lost in Norcross,
GA. Parked, pulled out the map, and looked up to check a street name.
Directly in front of us was LABAIRE POTTERY, A GALLERY of FINE CRAFT.(LABAIRE
POTTERY, A GALLERY of FINE CRAFT-duplication in case italics don't transmit in
all e-mail, don't want this place transmitting as symbols) Fortuitous? Better
believe it! This chance finding proved the highlight of our vacation.
Beautiful and, in our limited experience, different ware produced by a goodly
number of potters with diverse approaches, applications--whatever. The
owners, Anne and Ron Lebaire, are, at the risk of sounding soupy, warm,
delightful, and very willing to share information. The shop/gallery was
beautifully arranged and even the (very) few pieces that I didn't like as much
had to be admired for their execution.
We never did make it to the place we had been trying to find, decided that
anything after LEBAIRES would be anticlimactic. If you live near, or are
traveling to the Atlanta area, take the time and check this place out. 35 S.
