Greetings Clay workers,

I will be on Long Island, NY July 19.
Then, I'm heading north (hopefully, where it is cooler ) for a couple of
weeks.

If anyone knows of a good art fair / festival happening in New England,
would you
please inform me of it.

Also, I'd like to visit potteries and retail galleries. I'll be looking
forward to your referrals!!!

Sandi-- If you make it to Cape Cod I urge you to check out Scargo Stoneware
Pottery on Route 6A Dennis, Mass. Also Kemp Pottery (namely Steve) at
either of two locations in Brewster (Route 6A) and Orleans (Route 6A).
There is a cool gallery that specializes in sculpture (yes such a gallery
does exist!) called The Giving Tree on Route 6A in East Sandwich, Mass.
---enjoy (and feel free to contact me for more cape Cod info)-- Ken

Hi Sandy,

The oldest crafts fair in the country takes place at Sunnapee State
Park in New Hampshire on August 1 through 9. It is sponsored
by the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and is well worth a
visit. There are lots of potters. Hope you can make it.

Have a good trip, Debby Grant in NH

Sandy,

There is a wonderful folk music festival in N.Y. on July 24-26, The Falcon
Ridge Folk Festival it is at the "foot
of the Berkshires" near to both Connecticut and Massachusetts. We won't
be around this year to attend, but went last year and would highly
recommend it!

enjoy your vacation,
Linda

Sandy,
I recently had an opportunity to visit a dear friend in Connecticut ( those
states are so tiny - it is a short drive from NY to Connecticut ). I was
delighted at the beauty within the state. I was able to see two delightful
shops that I would recommend.
The Cornwall Bridge Pottery - Todd Piker, potter
store location : Route 128
West Cornwall, CT 06796
workshop : Route 7
Cornwall Bridge, CT 06754
1-800--501-6545
e-mail:TPIKER@MSN.COM
His work is very nice.
Then my friend also took me to the BROOKFIELD CENTER for CRAFTS - another
lovely location, wonderful art of various types on sale at the shop, including
clay work. It is in Brookfield, CT and I have seen advertisements in CM.
Good hunting & have fun !
