I'm getting ready to build my arch (honest. I cut the curves for the form
and everything). The latest wrench in the works is that my dimensions
are a bit off, so I need to put 3" of brick behind my skew instead of a 2 1/2"
brick on its side:
____
/ | |
/ |====| 2 x 2 1/2 stacked up
/___|____|

|- 3"--|

I figure I should mortar all this together, so I reviewed my saved clayart
emails and found a number of recommendations for mortar:

50-50 fireclay and grog
50-50 (fire)clay and fine sand
Greenpatch 421 from AP Green thinned down
"Brickset" from Pyro Engineering
Crushed IFB & Kaolin

Decisions. Decisions. Does anyone have a preference on or off this list?
Is mortar mortar or would one of these suit my purposes better?

Thanks,
Richard
