What is used to seal ceramic oil lamps? I know it has been discussed before
when I didn't need it--now I need to make the lamps and do not want to ruin
someone's furniture, etc. Seems I remember varnish, shellac, or what??
Thanks in advance.

Phyllis,
I have found clear lacquer to be the best. Usually don't glaze inside.
Just pour in lacquer and drain well. Kerosene even sweats thru > 10 glazed
stoneware. Seal inside of all temp. clay pots used for kerosene.
