teetering inferno..first fire jitters....

Getting ready to fire my first load.....recently purchased a Skutt 818
kiln.....was not as intimidating as the 1027...plus space is at a premium
right now....attended a clay workshop at Campbell Folk School back in
March....we used Highwater Clays's
Buff earthenware......bisqued to cone 03 and then glaze-fired at cone
06.....or so I thought.....the pieces were great......fired in a Skutt
1027......
do I have my bisque and glaze numbers reversed or what???? am confused
.....thought that if you bisqued at 03..etc...that you glazed at half the
heat...06...etc....
could someone clear this up for me.....don't want fourth of July going off in
my first kiln firing.....(getting the electrical work done for the kiln has
been very intimidating...goodness....didn't picture myself as a clay
wimp....but......better safe than sorry :) )
thanks!!
