I can't resist this one.

Over the many years I have subscribed to this list the subject of Laguna
B-Mix problems is frequent, and the problems range from cracking and now to
bloating.

I have also read the response from Laguna regarding some of the earlier
problems.

Seems to me that this clay formula while usable for many does indeed have
some indemic problems for many others.

I would think that Laguna needs to address this problem in a rather
substantive way and I also think that those potters who depend on this body
for their production need to perhaps look at some alternatives.

Pottery making does not have to be so encumbered with such problems.

Am I the only one who can see through this morass?

Jonathan

Nope..your not the only one who sees this.....that is why I QUIT using
Laguna B-Mix.....just tooooo many hassels to worry about...although I loved
to throw with it. Laguna should look after these problems instead of
giving excuses. Plainsman Clays fix problems and give NO excuses.
"FIREWORKS '98" was the best........you will alllll have to come in the
year 2000 for the next one...it should be a dooozy.
As Always In Clay...still healing great....Peggy

No - I agree. If you have to stand on your head, chew gum, and pat your
belly at the same time to get clay to perform, there's something wrong. I
personally don't know how you folks who are using B-Mix can tolerate these
losses. And, why is Laguna not responding to these problems. The clay
seems particularly tempermental -- from having to apply handles with extreme
care to bloating, etc.
