Hi Clayarters:

I am the lucky inheriter of a Cress (sp?) B-24 H kiln. I have heard that this
is a good kiln, but admittedly don't know about this one. As the kiln is old
(23 years) and I am not sure of it's capabilities. Currently, I am awaiting a
handbook on this model.

In the meantime, does anyone out there have info about this kiln (i.e.
^potential, tips with this brand, etc)? Also, does anyone have a favorite
shipping company for this type of item?

TIA

Hello,
I have a Cress B 23 H model and it is 18 years old. When I bought it I
called the Cress company but their entire factory had just burned down (this
was two years ago) and they did not even have manuals available. They did look
up the serial number and said that my kiln would safely go to Cone 6---in fact,
had actually been designed to go higher, but they recommended Cone 6. I've
somehow never gotten around to requesting that manual. But since the kiln is
not computerized I do like the option of being able to control temperature rise
very gradually with the controls going up in increments of 0-100, as opposed to
low, medium and high only. I hope your kiln works! As I said, mine is 18
years old and works just fine.
