Our show & sale this past weekend went very well. I would like to know
if anyone, probably other Guilds, would be interested in a computer
program my husband wrote for this sale. We used two computers and two
printers linked together. The program tracked which potter sold what,
figured out taxes, could let you know how much change to give back for
cash sales and you indicate if they paid by cash, cheque, M/C or Visa.
You could even check what a potter's sales were at at any time during
the sale. At the end of the sale, each potter went home with an
itemized list to compare to their inventory which also told them how
much they would be paid (less any applicable table fee). They were
given some time to advise of any errors and because it is computerized
the errors were corrected. Errors that could occur are human inputting
errors like crediting the wrong potter with a sale item. There were so
few errors made and this program was a god-send. The after-sale
calculations have been eliminated and have made a big difference in the
work involved calculating each potters sales. Reports can also be
printed with a total by payment type (how much cash, cheque, m/c, & visa
and totals each showing taxes seperately), potters totals and a complete
list by receipt number with totals.

I would like to know if there is any demand for this at other Guilds or
sales where you must track different artists/potters works at one
central pay station? Your replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
