I have used the Skutt 1027 with the wall mount kiln master/envirovent
for almost two years. I'm sure the instruction manual says its safe to
turn off the venting system after the kiln has cooled to at least 2000F
or the equivalent in C. Turning it off after a set period of time would
be dependant on the Cone temperature reached in the first place. I let
mine run right till cool. I usually crack the lid at around 100C. and
remove the peephole plugs, and it cools faster without any damage.I fire
to 06 for bisque and to 6 for the glaze.

I've pretty much figured out the kilnmaster, both Cone mode and using
Ramp/hold,so if you need any advice I'd be happy to assist.
