hand controlled wheels

I have been throwing standing up for a long time and needed a hand
controller on the Brent foot pedal.

Tapped a 1/2' hole in the foot pedal, secured a threaded rod with a nut(for
tension) in the hole, placed a clear plastic tube over the rod to keep it
clean, and then used a 1/2" threaded plastic knob (McMaster Carr) on the
end. The foot pedal is secured to the floor with one bolt so it can move a
bit. I can use either my foot or my right hand to control the speed. This
wheel now serves as our plaster turning wheel in the mold shop.
