Does anyone have a good, food safe cone 2, ox. glaze base?
I sure would appreciate it if you would share it?

=3EDear Wallace, Excuse me for the delay. I work at cone 2-3 and I use some
glazes from Ceramics Monthly September 1975. If you have trouble getting
hold of a copy, send me your address and I will photocopy it for you. Also
check Richard Zakin's Books, they have several glaze recipes at that
temperature. Here is one glaze from the September '75 issue. Hope it fits
the clay that you use.
Satin Matte =5E2
Fritte 3134 23=25
Wollastonite 40=25
Dark Bell Ballclay 37=25
you can add either 8=25 zircopax or 6=25 tin oxide

The best way to make a low fire glaze is mixing a high and low
expansion frit like 3134 and 3124. Then add around 25% EPK
to suspend and fire. If it crazes add 5 or 10% flint. If it still
crazes reduce the frit 3134 in favor of 3124. If it doesn't craze
do an ice water/boiling water test to confirm. If it melts too
much add some more kaolin.
