Hi All!

I am returning home to Texas this summer to visit family, and I wondered
if anyone knows of a blacksmith who makes custom raku tongs? I heard
about him on Clayart a year or two ago, but never printed off his name
and number.

Does anyone know who he is and how to reach him?

Erin.

There is a black smith by the name of David England in Dallas who makes
wonderful tongs. He also makes a long stick with a crook on the end that is
the best thing I have ever found for pulling pots. You put it inside the pot
and us the crook against the shoulder. This keeps the lip from being broken.
I have seen David come to a pottery workshop and take so many orders that he
works all weekend. He's a good friend of Randy Nancy Brodnax. Nancy can be
reached through Trinity Ceramic Supply in Dallas, but not during NCECA. Let
me know if you can't find him. I may see him in April. Good Luck. Shannon

Hi All...have used personally......a couple of coat hangers twisted
together and adjust the hook end to suit the work being pulled...works like
a darn and free.
Made some pinch pots last Mon and a few pinched flowers...every pinch was
felt but will get better soon. ;>}}}
