Hello Everyone,

I wanted to respond to the request for information about scanning slides
for use on the internet/web pages.

I am the webmaster for the Aftosa web site and a potter. My current
solution to scanning slides for the Aftosa Gallery and the other sites I
work on is to simply make a print from the slide and scan it in a
flatbed scanner. For use on web pages this method is more cost
effective and provides high enough resolution. You don't need high
resolution graphics on the internet, they load too slow.

If you are stuck on getting the highest resolution and appearance for
use in printing etc. I reccomend sending your slides to Sculp Image. He
has fair prices and he will upload the results to his FTP site for easy
retrieval. www.sculptimage.com

Hi Clayart:

I have tried both kinds of scanning--batch and individual.
There is no comparison.

I bought my own scanner and am planning to digitize over the
next few years. First I have to learn to get the old slides clean
of dust, lint, etc.

The adjustments I can make for light, color, contrast, etc. with my own
scanner are a real advantage, compared to batch scanning.
