Hi Everyone,
I'm going to Dallas next weekend 3/21 and staying until 3/25. I will not
be attending NCECA for various reasons relating to a husband and father who
not real thrilled with idea of a ceramics conference and my infant son
being with me. (Don't critize either of these reasons please, I'm perfectly
happy with both.) HOWEVER, everyone involved would love to see some of the
shows that are going to be up and I'm not sure where any of these are or
what the dates are. Please tell me about any ceramic shows in the area so
I can go over them with the family to decide which ones we want to attend.
Thank you in advance!

In Dallas, there is a show at the DMA called something like
"14 Texas Educators and their Mentors"; includes work by Val
Cushing, Don Reitz, Dan Hammett and many others. The Irving
Arts Center has an exhibit called "To Have and to Hold" (I think)
and is essentially a show of vessels (by Texans, I think).

There are two exhibits up at Texas Wesleyan University (that's
in Fort Worth); there are numerous exhibits including Ceramics
USA in Denton at University of North Texas and more exhibits still
at Texas Woman's University.

There are undoubtedly many, many more; most will be in Fort Worth,
but Dallas will have them too. You could call the Ceramics
Department
at University of Dallas (Dan Hammett), and I expect they'd be glad
to fax you a list of exhibitions . There'll be an embarrassment
of riches.
