Marshall:

Not to jump all over this one in a rude way, but PLEASE get you information
correct before you make a post such as this one that is misleading and
erroneous. Its important for those on the list to receive information that
is correct. This one is a clear case of information not well researched.

Refractory fiber modules are compressed significantly prior to installation
by various methods, and then allowed to expand and fill the voids left by
the shrinkage of the fiber after firing. This is both a common and standard
practice in the refractory fiber industry. Infact the R value, if such
exists for refractory fiber is enhanced by its compression.
