Hi Stuart;
You are man after my own heart. I loved this post and your quick response.
I have a home-made centering tool which I haven't used for some time. I am
going to reattach it to my wheel, and go out again this afternoon and give
this method another shot with the casters. If I think it is promising, I
will have one of these gismo's made for me with the dowel handles. I battle
arthritis off and on and anything that keeps my hands out of cold water in
the winter is beneficial to me. I love your plastic baseball opening tool.
My garage is a virtual museum of odds and ends I never throw out in case I
can use it with my clay. I have a round plastic childrens sled I use for
making bird baths. What the heck, I also fill it with sand, make
depressions or shapes in the sand, line the hole with saran wrap and use it
for molds to hold clay slabs, making dishes with feet. If it is fun, it is
right in my book. I'm going to starve to death trying to make a living with
this clay anyway, so I might as well enjoy doing it.
