Mel, I'm having the 5 minute trouble too. Would like to hear the
solution. But there is more, just in case anyone else is interested.

WAMP Server

I find this useful, and Wordpress can be run on it. I did it once
before, but it all disappeared into oblivion one day with a computer
glitch. Never reinstalled until a few days ago. But here is what I know.

There software program - free on the internet - just google for it is
called WAMP Server. The acronym stands for Windows-Apache-MySQL-PHP.
This software can be installed on your computer and run as if it is on a
server on the internet. You can run a web site, or Wordpress on it as if
it has been uploaded onto a server on the internet but without ever
having to upload it onto the internet. It all happens on your machine.
The advantage is to allow you a very quick check to see what your
website/wordpress blog is going to ACTUALLY look like once it is
uploaded to an internet server. You can make quick changes, adjustments,
etc, then check it on WAMP to see what the changes look like. Once your
work is corrected and done, run it through WAMP before you upload to the
internet, to see what it will look like, then FTP the files to your
webserver on the internet. WAMP is one of the handiest programs ever.

WAMP is designed to run on Windows machines. Apache is the most widely
used WEB Server software in the world and is supported by the Apache
Foundation. MySQL is a powerful database program integrated into the
package and PHP is a sophisticated language that is written as text
files designed specifically for website design. You don't have to be an
expert to use it, but it is just a bit sophisticated.

WAMP is a program well worth learning to use. And you can definitely
run Wordpress on it to check your work before uploading it to the world
wide web.

Regards,

John
