Is there any way to get a butter yellow terrasigillata without a ball
mill or rock tumbler? I'm hoping yes, but thinking no. Someone please
help me be more optimistic.

Nancy,
I've mixed 2 tsp. rutile with 1/2 C of my white sig and a few drops of =3D
sodium silicate and let this settle for a while until darker matter from =
=3D
the rutile has settled to the bottom. This might have taken a few weeks =3D
to settle out. Pour off all but the dark lower layer and use this as a =3D
reasonably polishable sig. For a higher polish I'd try mixing your dry =3D
white sig material with dry rutile, water and sodium silicate and let =3D
this settle for a couple of days pouring off the useable upper non solid =
=3D
milky layer. I've not tried to get a higher polish this way but I =3D
suspect it may well work. Please let me know if it does.=3D20
