Franchises...shamtises!!!You don't need to connect with franchises to teach=
=3D
adults in this way.
For herein there is a teaching prospect that I had not discovered til last =
=3D
year.
About a yr ago, a man found me on the internet and after looking at my webs=
=3D
ite, asked me if I would have an evening of "Wine, Cheese & Pottery!" with =
=3D
him and his hot date (his description, not MINE!
I told him it would be two classes, each 2 hours in length, and that he wou=
=3D
ld supply the wine and cheese and I would do the rest!=3DA0 I got his name,=
a=3D
sked him to give me an hr to think about it ..took t he hour to google this=
=3D
guy on line and see if he "seemed reasonable!". and come up with a fee ($6=
=3D
5 an hour plus $25 materials,/clay/glazes/firing fee)..called him back and =
=3D
told him "YES!"
Well...it was amazing! Two people in love, working in clay, getting "soused=
=3D
" with 2 bottles of wine in 2 hours. I taught them to throw small bowls and=
=3D
they did a handbuilding project and then ont heir way out, I took them int=
=3D
o my small gallery and they each bought a piece for each other.=3DA0 It bec=
am=3D
e sensual here, almost provacative, but they saved the good stuff for after=
=3D
they left!
Next am, two emails, one from each, declaring:
BEST DATE EVER!!!
So here in the affluent area of NO. Va ...where you can charge well for pri=
=3D
vate/semi private lessons, it ended up being a great way,...a new way for m=
=3D
e, of creating a new teaching=3D20
thing!
So now...I have regular "Wine, Cheese & Pottery" for special couples....it =
=3D
is great fun, financially beneficial and I a welcome break from teaching ki=
=3D
ds (that I also love.)
Forget the franchise stuff and DO IT YOURSELF! Market it yourself! Send it =
=3D
out to all your email list...and just do it.
Clear out part of the studio...set up=3DA0some candles and a table for thei=
r =3D
wine and cheese and VOILA! you have created your own venue.
AND It is GREAT fun!
Best of luck,

Interesting concept:

=3D
hise-offers-art-playtime-for-adults/?intcmp=3D3Dsbcfeatures

A drop in art center offering painting lessons combined with alcohol, to
create a "quilting bee" sort of social playtime atmosphere for people who
want to dabble at being artists.=3DA0 Of course, the franchise itself is a
complete ripoff, as are most (no real barriers to entry, and pretty much
nothing for your $20,000 franchise fee).=3DA0 The business concept would on=
ly
work in a meaningful way in a high net worth, high population density area
(moderately affluent suburb), but still, the idea is pretty good (hint to
community art centers:=3DA0 The key is the alcohol!).

All the best.
