high temp bisque

I don't sagger ....but I do C/04 bisque & then apply oxides,
iron,ochre,rutile mang. dioxide & then fire to C6. I then smoke them in
my Webber BBQ with pine needles, red wood droppings, dry leaves,etc. I
pre heat in my raku kiln to help them resist thermal shock, since I
also put a lot od BBQ lighter on them to get them going. I have cracked
a few before doing it this way. I get good blacks,& grays on areas not
painted with oxides. Mike Gordon
