Under Pressure.

This is the mnemonic we use to remember the order of the street names
in downtown Seattle. Starting at the south, from Yesler Way, which is
the dividing line between downtown Seattle and Pioneer Square, and the
street the blocks are numbered from going north, there are two streets
with each of those initials:

Jefferson and James
Cherry and Columbia
Marion and Madison
Spring and Seneca
University and Union
Pike and Pine

The Sheraton is between Union and Pike with the main entrance on 6th
Avenue, the Convention Center is in the same block with the main
entrance on Pike. So the Pike Place Market is 6 blocks west of the
Sheraton. Pike Place itself goes off the corner of Pike Street and
1st Avenue. The next street north of Pine is Virginia Street which
marks the beginning of the Belltown neighborhood. So it's 10 blocks
through all the Jesus Christ streets so you can get an idea of how far
north of Yesler a building number on one of the numbered avenues is.
