There is a very simple solution to bad medical care. I learned a long =3D
time ago that lawyers get very different health care from what others =3D
get. Whenever Jim has needed surgery, I've always embarrassed him to no =3D
end by telling everyone who walks near him that I'm a lawyer.=3D20

Many years ago, our nephew was in the hospital after he nearly removed =3D
two fingers using a log splitter. There was a gizmo attached to his =3D
finger to monitor finger temperature. The gizmo had an alarm that would =3D
go off if the temperature was either too high or too low. The gizmo was =3D
broken and the alarm sounded continuously. I told the nurse at the desk =3D
that if anything happened to our nephew's hearing, we would sue. She =3D
laughed. "You think that's funny? Here's my business card and what I do =3D
for a living." 10 minutes later, a doctor was in our nephew's room and =3D
he was looking for me. And that was on a Sunday!

A few years ago, Jim had basal cell cancer removed from his nose. The =3D
hospital called, while he was still groggy from the anesthetic, and =3D
conned Jim into giving them our credit card number. They tried to rip us =
=3D
off to the tune of $1300+. Amazing what a letter on attorney letterhead =3D
will do. It didn't hurt that I got along well with the District =3D
Attorney. This last fall, the same hospital treated me far differently. =3D
Nice to know retired folks weren't getting ripped off any more.=3D20

Now that all of you know me, all that needs to be said to medical people =
=3D
is that your friend is a lawyer.=3D20
