class registration + retail software

I have some ideas regarding the classes, registration, etc., but it would
not cover the other (retail sales.) POS systems tend to be pretty
specialized, though I'd be interested if anyone out there has the whole
thing.

At the school where I work we use a software for managing classes called
Moodle. It's web based, can be hosted for as little as under $100/year for
a relatively low volume site, and there are features that can be turned on
for signing up for classes. You can also use it to provide students a list
of resources, etc.

It can scale from home schooling up to a large university system. It would
actually work well for basic class signup and resources, especially if the
money side was handled separately.

Here's info on the enrollment and payment features:

Another promising possibility...just found it, so I haven't set it up yet,
