i sit down and talk to inventors all i can.
i just like them...honest, good folks.

i had lunch today with a fellow that invented
a new hand cream and it works well.
he sent me samples a few months ago.
(he is local here in minneapolis.)

good stuff.
it was originally made for knitters.

it is called `made by hand` a number of vendors
in clay are going to carry it. baillie, axner etc.

so.
try it. i get nothing from him...it is a `mary ellen` product.

he has invented tack for baseball bats, a warm up tool
for baseball, hand cream...deodorizer etc.
good fellow.

i told him i would not endorse anything until we sat down
and had lunch. (i paid.) need to look folks in the eye..see
who they are, how he thinks...good guy.

it is one of those creams that is dry. does not stain, or
you have blot it with a kleenex to use your hands.
i felt it had sort of a `bengay` affect. warms your hands.
anyway.
try it...nice stuff.

On the subject of hand cream, Mom's Stuff by Lee Bennion, originally =3D
made for rive runners, is the best salve I've used for healing skin =3D
splits etc. You can google it.
Kerodex 71 for wet work is a barrier cream that helps keep hands in good =
=3D
shape while working. I order it from my local pharmacy.

Perhaps there are better hand creams for severely damage skin, but in terms
of preventative maintenance, I have found nothing better than the standard
pump-dispenser bottle from Trader Joe's - the white bottle with red
lettering. After working clay I wash my hands well to get the particles ou=
t
of my skin and then apply the Trader Joe's hand cream and work it in well,
and I have had no more problems. And I am someone who used to have fairly
severe skin problems. When I was getting into ceramics forty years ago I
was also playing guitar in an acoustic swing band, and I had to wrap plasti=
c
tape over my fingertips to play music because they were so badly damaged.
Thank goodness I got past that problem.

If you have (or can get) access to a microwave, look at this product -- a
heating pad you put in the microwave and then can tie around you lower
back. I fine it wonderful for lower-back pain, and imagine it might be
just what you are looking for...

Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat-Cold Therapy Wrap with Ties for
Back, Hip, Shoulder, 7" x 12"

You can get them at drug stores. I got mine through Amazon...

Good potting,
Nan
