My experience with finger injuries had to do with my thumb actually, I
was cutting the ends off corn cobs with a big chopping knife, & when I
leaned on it to cut the cob I also got the end of my thumb. So at my
then wife's direction I put the end into a plastic bag with some ice &
off I went to the emergency. HA! the Dr. looked at it and my thumb and
threw it in the waste basket!
I have to admit watching a part of your body, no matter how small, get
thrown away gave my gut a little twitch. He bandaged it up and sent me
home, ( it'll grow back over, no problem ), it did but, but was a
little numb for a couple of years. Mike Gord

I was told it would be ultra sensitive for a long time, is that in your
case also.
