Summer House Studios will host a Raku Workshop on=0ASaturday February 14th =
from 9
am until 4 pm and Sunday February 15th from 9 am=0Auntil 1 pm. Summer House
Studios is located at 2416 Main Street, Conway, SC,=0Aapproximately twelve =
miles
from Myrtle Beach. =0A=0AThis course will be instructed by Dennis Stevens, =
the
director of Summer House=0AStudios, who is also an artist specializing in
sculptural raku pottery. The=0Acost of this course is =2475 and =
participants will
be required to bring their=0Aown bisque fired pots to raku.=0A=0AThis =
workshop is
designed to allow the beginning to intermediate potter the=0Aopportunity to
explore the various glazing techniques and methods of producing=0ARaku Fired
Pottery. In addition to glaze recipes and firing techniques,=0Aparticipants=
will
be exposed to ideas in constructing their own Raku kiln and=0Athe various =
theories
of their operation. By participating in this workshop,=0Astudents will =
obtain the
knowledge and self confidence necessary to return to=0Atheir studios and =
fire
their own work utilizing the information obtained at=0ASummer House
