You can buy mounting cases for them.

I've used sticky back velcro to mount such devices to a tripod. Put the
velcro on an inexpensive cover.

Here ya go, Rimas---the Sound Logic iPhone Telescopic Lens w/Mini
Tripod & Carry Case, $31 at Geeks.com

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=3DTL-6-4910

I'd give it either the "Rube Goldberg Award" or even the prestigious
"Silk Purse Award!"

Thanks Carl, I was being facetious about the female threads... and yes, tha=
t is quite the Rube Goldberg affair ...or sow's ear... I've got a Nikon Coo=
lpix 2100 that I use for shooting my work. I bought my first 2100 years ago=
when they first came out and 2M was a big deal for a point & shoot. I boug=
ht the 2100 because it had the closest focus capability, about 1.5 inches. =
The battery door went south on the 2100 after a while and for a time it wor=
ked being slightly ajar; and finally it wouldn't latch at all so I taped th=
e door shut for a while. By that time 6M was out and about, so I got one of=
those, Coolpix again, but it didn't focus as close, then a 12 M Coolpix bu=
t the battery depletes really quickly... None of the succeeding cameras I'v=
e bought focus as closely and are as easy to use. So then I went on eBay an=
d bought up 4 used Coolpix 2100's, first asking the seller if the battery d=
oor latches properly or if there are any cracks on the door. I have
had the 2M jpegs from the Coolpix blown up to full page size and they are =
just fine, nice and sharp, for catalogs and exhibition ads. I don't photosh=
op or alter my jpegs. I work under the same principles as when I was using =
my F-1 with a macro lens for slides; I frame the work in the LCD to avoid c=
ropping or manipulating. I can also shoot under varying light conditions an=
adjust the light balance accordingly within the camera. My wife did give m=
e a digital SLR some years ago, but it's way too complicated for my needs, =
although it brings back memories of the Canon F-1 as you can't frame throug=
h the LCD and need to use the viewfinder. I thought about putting my F-1 on=
eBay, but it's such a simple, beautiful machine I think I'll be keeping it=
; we also have a 4X5 that's pretty sweet -and 35mm and 4x5 Ektachrome in th=
e freezer from 15 or so years ago... Regards, -Rimas
