if you remove the cover plate on the footpedal of a brent there is a
speed control...red button hi speed
blue button on/off slow.
turn wheel to full on and adjust the red button til you get a nice
centering speed.
use the blue one to make sure it turns off completely.
just adjust til you are happy.
most brents go far too fast....factory setting is full on.

had to adjust about 4 of them in florida....could not throw that fast.

Mel,

I throw with my Brent just the way it came--center at top speed. Oh well,
guess you can do just about anything so long as you aren't aware you
shouldn't be able to do it.

Do you know whether a Brent pedal control can be converted to a hand
control? I enjoy throwing standing up, but most of the time, I'm standing
on one foot! I have the control on the table and work it with my
knee--how's that for a unique technique?

TIA for your advice! :)

I know nothing about Pacifica wheels, but do use a Shimpo and a Brent in
my studio. When I was having the identical problem with my Brent a few
months ago, Mel made the following suggestion which worked, with no
further problems since then. Verbatim from Mel: "if you remove the
cover plate on the footpedal of a brent there is a speed control...red
button hi speed
blue button on/off slow.
turn wheel to full on and adjust the red button til you get a nice
centering speed.
use the blue one to make sure it turns off completely.

In the Mojave glad that NCECA is almost over and everybody has to return
home until next year when I will definitely not be so foolish as to miss
out again.
